International Rocket Engineering Competition Team

We participate in the International Rocket Engineering Competition, the world's largest university rocket engineering conference and competition, where students can launch solid, liquid, or hybrid rockets to 10k, 30k, and 45k feet.

Our students design, develop and construct nearly every aspect of our rocket. From the simulations our aerodynamics team run to the airframe our structures team builds to the very chemical composition of the motor our propulsion team develops, we pursue excellence in every aspect of this project.

This year we are building Nomad, the team's most advanced and powerful rocket to date! Following flight tests this Spring, we will be travelling to Midland, TX to compete in the IREC in June!

BSLI IREC Project team competes annually in Texas

Every year, this team travels to Texas to compete in the International Rocket Engineering Competition, the largest intercollegiate rocketry competition. The team competes in the 30K Student Research and Designed (SRAD) category, meaning they must design and build a rocket that can reach an altitude of 30,000 feet.
