Liquid Rocket Systems

Liquid Rocket Systems develops powerful liquid rocket engines. The team is currently working on our second engine, Prometheus, and our launch vehicle, Amadeus.

Liquid Rocket Systems is Ohio State's One and Only Liquid Rocket Team

Our team started off in 2021 as a handful of passionate engineers with a dream of one day reaching the Kármán Line. Four years and three hot-fires later, LRS has grown astronomically, manufacturing electric turbopumps, designing flight computers, and simulating hypersonic aerodynamics. The team invites fellow students to learn advanced manufacturing techniques and work with powerful hardware to produce record-breaking results.

Liquid Rocket Systems has successfully hot-fired its own additive-manufactured engine, Serenity, with a total burn time of 15 seconds. Its successor, Prometheus, is nearly complete and is almost ready to hot-fire.
